Tizian (2021–2022)
During the restoration of Titian’s Assunta in the Frari Church in Venice, I documented the work from within the scaffolding.Rather than depicting the painting as a whole, the photographs focus on close spatial and material conditions, layers, pigments, and surface structures, revealing the complexity of the work in a fragmented visual field.
These images form the basis for subsequent abstract montages. Through processes of decontextualization, fragmentation, and recomposition, the photographic material is translated into new visual structures that shift attention from representation toward material perception.
