Monastic (2014–2019)
The Monastic series brings together photographs taken in selected European monasteries, where I lived and worked between 2014 and 2019.
The work focuses on architectural detail and spatial conditions within environments shaped by withdrawal, repetition, and reduction. Rather than emphasizing their religious function, the images isolate structural and atmospheric qualities that define these spaces as systems of light, rhythm, and restraint.
The series includes works from Le Corbusier’s Sainte Marie de La Tourette near Lyon, Hans van der Laan’s Roosenberg Abbey near Antwerp, and Andrea Palladio’s Monastery of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice.
