LICHT (2024)
Licht marks a shift from von Rauch's earlier focus on architecture toward a studio-based investigation of light and perception.
In her Berlin studio, a large window covered with translucent paper became the sole subject of the work. Its appearance changed continuously through variations in daylight, weather, and season.
Over the course of one year, von Rauch repeatedly photographed the same window whenever particular light conditions occurred.
The resulting works translate ephemeral light into monochromatic square fields. Presented as a sequence, they reveal subtle temporal and atmospheric transformations within a single place.
