Potter’s House (2021)
I hardly knew Mallorca, and I had only spoken to Luciano by phone.
Working artistically in a place for a short time is always a risk: Will there be peace and quiet? Will I feel at ease? Will the place inspire me?
Yes.
You immediately want to take off your shoes and feel the ceramic-like floor with bare feet.
Everything is simple, elegant, and made with great care.
I felt at home right away.
The house is open yet private. Unusual.
And the light—constantly changing, touching the surfaces like in a potter’s workshop.
The house is a tribute to a ceramist.
How special that Luciano makes it available as an artist residency.
I loved working here; it suits my slow, analogue way of seeing and photographing.
I could have watched the light much longer.
I will have to return.
