During her work at the waste incineration plant in 2021–22, Friederike von Rauch witnessed vast amounts of waste and gained insight into the immense effort involved in eliminating, collecting, sorting, and ultimately incinerating it to generate energy. Her medium-format photographs capture the imposing power of this facility.
